U-20 and Minor inter-county competitions paused until further notice from tomorrow

AFTER much confusion, the GAA have now confirmed that underage intercounty competitions will be paused during the Level 5 lockdown.

This comes as a blow to all involved with several competitions nearing the final stages.

The statement from the organisation read.

Following clarification from the Department of Sport around the staging of inter-county fixtures, the GAA can confirm that as of midnight this evening, all minor and U20 inter-county competitions are paused until further notice.

Accordingly, Saturdayโ€™s scheduled EirGrid GAA U20 football final meeting of Dublin and Galway will not take place.

This eveningโ€™s Bord Gรกis Energy Leinster U20 hurling fixtures will proceed.

From a Limerick perspective, the Minor Footballers were scheduled to start their Munster campaign against Waterford on Saturday while the hurlers were down to face Cork in the semi-finals.

The U20 hurling team were scheduled to face Cork in the Munster semi-final on Monday evening.
