THE theme of World AIDS Day 2020 is ‘Global solidarity, shared responsibility’.
HIV was recognised as a global pandemic in the 1980s and has continued to impact the lives of those living with and affected by it.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seen people living with HIV facing additional challenges, increasing the vulnerability of this marginalised group. GOSHH, based in Limerick City but covering the Mid-West, is currently promoting community based rapid HIV testing as part of the Know Now campaign.
On World AIDS Day – Tuesday December 1 – GOSHH will continue to provide free rapid testing as well as information on HIV services at their offices in Davis Street, Limerick.
