LIMERICK’s Sarah Lavin continued her excellent early season form as she beat her personal best twice at the World Indoor Tour on Wednesday evening in Madrid.

The event came in the wake of her selection for the Irish team at the European Indoor Championships in Poland in March.

In the heat for the 60m hurdle final, Lavin posted a time of 8.14, which was .04 seconds better than her previous PB which she posted earlier this month in Ostrava.

That run was enough for third in the race and a place in the final later that evening.

In the final in Madrid, Lavin would go one better as she knocked a further .01 off her time. Her 8.13 was enough for third behind Spain’s Teresa Errandonea and Nadine Visser of the Netherlands.

In the virtual mix zone after the race, the Limerick woman was clearly delighted with her performances as she looks ahead to a maiden European Championships next month.
