Limerick boy to be laid to rest on Sunday after sustaining critical injuries in fall

A four year old boy who died after sustaining a critical head injury in an apparent fall at a house in Limerick last weekend, is to be laid to rest this Sunday.

Little Mason TJ Oโ€™Connell-Conway from Carriage Court, Dublin Road and Rathbane in Limerick, died at Childrens Hospital Ireland, Temple Street, Dublin, last Tuesday.

Last Tuesday Gardaรญ said they were investigating all of the circumstances around the boyโ€™s death but were โ€œmaintaining an open mindโ€œ in their enquiries.

Gardaรญ stated that the results of a post mortem on the boyโ€™s body โ€œwill determine the course of the investigationโ€. Gardai have not made any further comment or statement.

A funeral notice published this evening stated the boy passed away โ€œfollowing an accidentโ€ and was โ€œsadly missed by his heartbroken parents, mother Elizabeth and father John Paul, brothers and sisters Michaela, Aaron, Bonnie and Kyle, Elizabethโ€™s partner Aaron, John Pauls partner Tegan, and his grandparents, Breda, Tony and Johnโ€.

The boyโ€™s remains will be reposing at his grandmotherโ€™s home at Scanlan Park, Castleconnell on Saturday, 20th March, โ€œfor family and friends onlyโ€œ.

The boyโ€™s funeral mass will be held at St Josephโ€™s Church, Castleconnell, at 11.30am Sunday, with burial afterwards in St Josephโ€™s cemetery, Castleconnell.

The boyโ€™s family has requested mourners to โ€œplease adhere to Government guidelines regarding social distancingโ€ during the funeral.
