Little Bohs show they have very big hearts

THERE’S big heart in the UL Bohemian Rugby Club’s under-six and under-seven teams, as anyone who has ever seen them rise to the challenge of the game can verify.

But it’s not the only way they have heart and the young players have shown remarkable empathy and commitment to the residents of The Park nursing home in Castletroy.

The UL Bohemian RFC underage players aimed to spread happiness to the people who have been isolating throughout the duration of the Covid lockdown.

The players, along with their families, decided to show their support for the 42 residents of The Park Nursing Home in Castletroy, by providing each of the residents with care packages.

The packages were put together with a fantastic amount of thought and attention for each of the residents currently at the home.

The bundle of goodies included a range of six wooden bird houses (handmade by one of the club players), puzzles, books, six signed books by local long-listed author Donal Ryan, candles, lovely letters from the children, and of course, some essential sweets and chocolate goodies.

In addition to these fantastic care packages, Supervalu also donated ten care packages to the UL Bohemian RFC collection.

The venture was organised by underage coach, Ian Stephenson, and delivered with love directly to the staff and residents.
