TOGETHER for Hospice, The National Hospice Movement, represents 26 independent hospice and specialist palliative care providers who have come together to fundraise collectively at National level.

Together for Hospice runs two national campaigns, Hospice Sunflower Days and Hospice Coffee Morning together with Bewley’s. The entire ethos behind Together for Hospice is ‘Every Euro Raised Locally Stays Locally’ which means that all funds raised through their national campaigns go directly to local hospices, you can find out more about the work of Together for Hospice here; www.togetherforhospice.ie

Their annual campaign, Hospice Sunflower Days, in normal times involves on-street collection, but due to Covid-19 the collection is unable to go ahead for the second year in a row. This has had a devastating impact on Hospices nationwide and their ability to fundraise to support vital frontline services.

This year, in recognition of the difficult year families and communities have faced, Hospices nationwide have instead come together to create a ‘Virtual Sunflower Remembrance Garden’ that allows people to sponsor a Sunflower In Memory of a loved one whilst supporting their local hospice.

It has been a very challenging year for many, and Together for Hospice hopes that the Virtual Sunflower Remembrance Garden might provide an online space where loved ones can be remembered and precious memories celebrated, reminding us that we are not alone.

Every euro raised throughout the campaign will go directly back to each local hospice and those leaving messages will have the option to choose which hospice they would like to support.

The virtual sunflower remembrance garden will run for the full month of June 2021. During the month members of the public are invited to dedicate a virtual sunflower in memory of a loved one and make a donation to their local hospice at www.togetherforhospice.ie/sunflowerdays.

Sunflower dedications can also be shared with friends or family members to let them know they are in your thoughts.
