WATCH: Donal Ryan focused on ‘positives’ after loss to Offaly in League opener

THE Limerick Ladies Football team had a losing start to their Lidl National Football League campaign on Sunday.

Donal Ryan’s side were beaten 3-12 to 2-10 in Tullamore by an Offaly side who made it two from two.

Limerick now face into a game with Carlow with the winners moving into the knockout stages of Division 4.

Reflecting on the loss, Ryan was upbeat about his sides performances with plenty to work on ahead of the visit of Carlow next weekend.

“We have a game under our belts now and it is a quick turnaround with another game in seven days in the Gaelic Grounds.

“There’s always room for improvement but when we look back on the video tonight, there will be a lot of unforced errors. We conceded a lot from that. Its something we tried to cut out last year and we will have to continue to work on it. If we cut 50% of that out it will make a huge difference.

“We relied a lot on frees last year to score. We had a lot of scorers to today, so it was great to see players step up. There are some positives and we will try to get it right for Carlow next week.”
