Gardaí seize almost €40,000 cash concealed in car in Dooradoyle

GARDAI have seized almost €40,000 in cash found concealed in the side panels of a car in Dooradoyle.
A number of designer jackets, which gardai suspect to be the proceeds of crime, were also recovered in the planned Garda search operation at a house in Glencairn, on Monday.
A man in his 20s was arrested by gardai and later released without charge pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“Gardaí have arrested a man and seized €36,000 in cash and designer jackets in Co. Limerick on June 7, 2021, as part of an ongoing operation targeting suspected criminal activity in Limerick.”
“Detective Gardaí from Henry Street executed a warrant at a house in Glencairn, Dooradoyle at around 8.30am. During the search Gardaí seized approximately €36,000 cash that had been hidden in the side panels of a car on the property.”
The car was also seized and when Gardaí searched the house they seized three Canada Goose jackets and one Moncler jacket.
“A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested at the scene and was brought to Henry Street Garda Station.”
“He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and was later released. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
