THE Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship approaches the 3rd and final round of group games this weekend.
After an eventful second round of games, there are five teams that are assured their place in the final eight.
Round II Results
- Group 1: Granagh / Ballingarry 2 – 19 : 3 – 14 Tournafulla
- Group 2: Hospital Herbertstown 0 – 13 : 1 – 23 Croom
- Group 3: Knockaderry 1 – 17 : 1 – 15 Feohanagh
- Group 4: Kilmallock 1 – 13 : 3 – 19 Na Piarsaigh
In the Intermediate championship, the top two sides advance into the quarter-finals with the bottom four sides into the relegation play-offs.
Two of five sides that are through are in Group1 with Bruree and Granagh Ballingarry assured of their progression after beating Tournafulla. Tour will play in the relegation semi-finals for the second consecutive year. Bruree and GB meet to see who tops the table.
Croom’s win over Hospital Herbertstown ensures their progress. If Pallasgreen avoid defeat against Hospital this weekend then they will advance alongside Croom with the sides laying out a draw in round one. A Hospital win will see them through and Pallas finishing bottom.
Knockaderry’s win over Feohanagh booked their place in the quarter-finals. A win over Croagh will see them top the table while a win for last year’s Junior A champions will have them as group winners. A loss of more than two points will put Croagh in relegation danger with Feohanagh finishing second.
Kilmallock need a 12+ point win over Effin to advance after their heavy defeat to Na Piarsaigh last weekend. The nature of the Caherdavin’s side win guarantees their progress. A win for Effin ensures them top spot.
