A global software company in facilities management has set up shop in Limerick city after a successful start at LIT’s Hartnett Centre.

Trackplan, an innovative facilities management software company, moves into Limerick City this week following a significant year of growth.

The company which has been based at LIT’s Hartnett Enterprise Acceleration Centre for the last six years, won Start-Up of the Year in 2017 with Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontier’s Programme.

CEO and Founder of Trackplan, Mark Cochrane, who has called the Treaty City his home for more than nine years, says it is an exciting time for the company, with an increasing demand for the facilities management platform.

Reflecting on the Trackplan’s journey to date, Mark said, “I had wanted to start my own company for a while, and getting on the new Frontiers Programme with LIT, gave me the supports I needed to nurture and grow Trackplan. Six years on, the company has organically grown to a team of seven talented and skilled developers that I was able to employ from within Ireland and overseas.

Trackplan provides software for facilities or maintenance managers to manage and log day-to-day reactive or scheduled maintenance jobs, from fixing boilers to repairing windows. The company has gone from strength to strength, with almost 50 clients from around the world including, The Australian Open, Saudi Aerospace and The Royal College of Surgeons.

“We are delighted to start a new chapter at Trackplan in the heart of Limerick City.  When I first moved here from the UK nine years ago, I started in the Hartnett Enterprise Acceleration Centre as an employee of another start-up.

“I have a great sense of pride in Limerick and want to see it continue to thrive. As the Trackplan expanded, it only made sense to locate our new office in the city centre. I will genuinely miss LIT enormously and a big thanks to Gillian Barry, Mary Casey and the rest of the Innovation team there,” Mark continued.

Entrepreneur in Residence at the Hartnett Centre and former VP at Analog Devices, Dick Meaney said, “This is an exciting journey for Mark and the team at Trackplan as they continue to scale globally and build the business. It takes hard work and passion just to get started and it takes vision, strategy, talent and investment to scale. Mark has deep insight into his customers’ problems and it is testament to his dedication, hard work and commitment that the company continues to grow.”

Head of Innovation and Enterprise at LIT, Gillian Barry said, “Since winning Start Up of the Year with our New Frontiers Programme, Mark has grown this from a compelling opportunity to a global business. The Hartnett Enterprise Acceleration Centre supports entrepreneurs like Mark, to help them validate and develop an idea and then start and scale a business. Mark has steadily grown Trackplan to what is now a global company big enough to move out of the centre and into Limerick City.

“We look forward to continuing to engage with Mark and the team and work with the next generation of inspired startups who will be based in the Hartnett Centre with us,” she continued.

Mark now follows in the footsteps of other successful entrepreneurs whose roots began in the LIT’s Hartnett Enterprise Acceleration Centre, such as Barry Lunn of Arralis, Adrian Fleming of Accuvio and Hannah Wrixon of Get The Shifts, to name a few.
