Limerick District League AGM Postponed due to FAI Advice

THE upcoming Limerick District League AGM scheduled for this Tuesday September 28th at Castletroy Park Hotel has been postponed at the behest of the Football Association of Ireland.

In recent weeks, discontent has been growing among a cohort of Limerick District League clubs and the FAI have indicated that they will meet with both league and club officials to discuss the various issues which have arisen.

LDMC Assistant Secretary Turlough McNamara contacted all clubs to announce the news via email this evening. the email read;

“After receiving email and contact today from  Rea​ Walshe -Chief Operations Officer FAI requesting that the upcoming LDL AGM for this Tuesday 28.9.21 be postponed – The LDL have decided to postpone the AGM.FAI representatives will travel to Limerick on Mon October 4th to meet separately with the LDL and club reps”

FAI Chief Operations Officer Rea Walshe contacted the LDMC to instruct them and make them aware of the associations wishes. The FAI email stated;

“The FAI have been made aware over the last number of weeks, of a number of issues arising within the Limerick District League.

“We understand that the Limerick District League AGM is due to be held on the 28th of September and we would request that you postpone this AGM in order to allow the FAI to meet with representatives of both the Limerick District League Committee and of your clubs in order to establish the exact issues that have arisen and how the FAI can help to resolve these issues.
