THE first episode of RTÉ One’s newest series of Beyond the Menu, presented by former Michelin chef Mark Moriarty, is devoted to Limerick.

Mark travels to Limerick to meet up with Michelin Chef Mike Tweedie of the Oak Room, Adare Manor. The show goes behind the scenes with him at this fabulous spot, where viewers will find out what brought him to Ireland, how he and his co workers unwind after the busy day, as well as meeting some of the local producers who supply to the restaurant.

Affectionately  referred to as Lord of the Manor, Mike Tweedie grew up in a rural village in Devon, working in numerous Michelin starred restaurants before arriving in Ireland. He now runs the exclusive Oak Room in the five-star Adare Manor, which succeeded in winning a Michelin star in 2019.

Filmed across six months in 2021, presenter Mark Moriarty spends four days with six chefs, offering the audience unrivalled, behind-the-scenes access to some of Ireland’s biggest talents. Each episode aims to showcase the people behind the food, asking what drives them, showing their creativity  and talent while noting the sacrifice and sheer graft required to be the best.
