Weekend Sport | What to watch and where to find it

IT’S that time of the week again, and time to fill you in on what’s on this week, when it’s on, and on what channels you can find them on.

Saturday

Early Saturday morning, Golf kicks off on Sky Sports Golf at 10am, as action from the Joburg Open from South Africa gets underway, while the Costa Del Sol Open De Espana starts at the later time of 1.30pm, also on Sky Sports Golf.

Tennis gets underway with further Davis Cup action, as France play Great Britain, on Eurosport 1 from 9am.

In Soccer, coverage and previews of all the English games starts on BBC1 with Football Focus. With the first game of the day, the meeting between Arsenal and Newcastle is live on BT Sport 1 from 12.30pm. While at the same time, in Championship action, Fulham travel to Preston, live on Sky Sports Football, at 12.30pm. Also in the Premier League, Liverpool host Southampton at Anfield, on Premier Sports 2 at 3pm. Brighton play Leeds on Sky Sports Premier League at 5.30pm. With all the premier league action being round-up on Match of the Day, on BBC 1 from 10.30pm. While across the continent, Juventus and Atalanta, both fresh from Champions League action, play each other on BT Sport 2, which gets underway from 5.15pm.

While for Rugby fans, BT Sport 2 broadcasts the meeting between Harlequins and London Irish, in English Premiership action. While closer to home, RTE2 and Premier Sports 2 is the home of Ulsters trip to Leinster, which gets underway at 8pm.

Much earlier in the day, the third day of the 1st test between India and New Zealand is live on Sky Sports Cricket from 5.30am in the morning.

Saturday ends with American action, as the NFL on Sky Sports Arena hosts the meeting of Philadelphia and San Francisco, starting at 11pm.

Sunday

Sunday starts with American action, as the NBA on Sky Sports Arena covers the very late meeting of Salt Lake City v Utah Jazz, from 2am. While much much later in the day, Sky Sports Arena at 8.30pm covers the showcasing the meeting of LA Warriors and The Clippers.

The 4th day of the 1st test between India v New Zealand is on Sky Sports Cricket from 3.50a, with the 2nd ODI between South Africa and Netherlands starts from 11.30am, also on Sky Sports Cricket.

In Golf the continuation of the Joburg Open in South Africa and the Costa Del Sol Open De Espana, are both on Sky Sports Golf, starting at 10am and 12pm respectively.

In Soccer, the kick-off between Livingston and manager-less Rangers starts on Sky Sports Football from 12pm. While in Premier League action, Brentford v Everton starts on Sky Sports Premier League from 2pm, with Chelsea playing Man United in Michael Carrick’s last game in charge. Also on Sky Sports Premier League from 4.30pm. The rest of league games being reviewed on Match of the Day 2 on BBC1 from 10.30pm. While on Irish shores, the FAI Cup Final between St Pats and Bohemians gets under way at 3.15pm on RTE 2.

In GAA, the Munster Club Hurling Final between Ballyea and Ballygunner starts on TG4 from 1.15pm, while 2 hours later, the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Final Replay between Thurles Sarsfields and Loughmore begins on 3.15, again on TG4.

With the NFL rounding out the weekend, with Sky Sports NFL hosting the games between Tennessee and the New England Patriots at 6pm, with the meeting of the LA Rams and the Green Bay Packers, straight after, at 9pm. And straight after that, Cleveland take on Baltimore from 1AM, to round off another tightly packed and exciting weekend of sport!
