THE courtyard at the University of Limerick was transformed into a real life Christmas Market whenย UL Student Life joined forcesย with Campus Life Services to channel the festive spiritย on Wednesday and Thursdayย of last week.
Withย the recent spike in Covid 19 case numbers and emergence of a new variant of the virus, safety was a prime concern with UL Student Life and the university authorities carrying out extensive health and safety procedures.
The big turnout of students and staff had a wide range of choice withย thirteen stalls featuring locally produced food, crafted bread, confectionary, crafts and jewellery.
To the sound of musicย provided by students, the Christmas tree was lit up and the courtyard boundary walls decoratedย as patrons were entertained byย Santaโs grotto, stilt walkers, an oversized Grinch and a walking Christmas tree.
UL Student Life General Manager Martin Ryan said theyย were delighted to help students and staff celebrate together safely and bring an end to a very challenging year for everyone on a high note.
