WATCH | Relive Limerick’s 2020 All-Ireland final win

LIMERICK produced a performance for the ages in the depths of winter to seal the All-Ireland championship win.

The 2020 All-Ireland will forever be remembered as the one that was not only played in Winter but also behind closed doors as unprecedented times became the norm.

But for one team it was especially memorable as Limerick were crowned the champions of Ireland for the second time in three years with an awesome display in an empty Croke Park this day twelve months ago.

John Kiely’s side rattled off the first two scores before Waterford hit back with a pair of their own. That was as good as it got for the Deise as they were suffocated by the men in green.

They were double scores ahead, 0-8 to 0-4 at the first waterbreak which Waterford marginally reduced to three at the short whistle.

But the third quarter belonged to Kiely’s men as they outscored the Deise by 0-10 to 0-5 to move eight clear.

From here the result was sealed as Limerick sauntered to a 0-30 to 0-11 win and a ninth ever All-Ireland crown.

On the year anniversary of the unique spectacle, watch in full below.
