THE detailed design for a traffic management scheme at Wards Cross near Abbeyfeale has been finalised.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has allocated €400,000 towards the cost of the project which is expected to get under way when the land acquisition process is completed.
In response to a question from Fine Gael councillor Liam Galvin, Deirdre Clarke, Executive Engineer with Mid West National Road Design Office, said that the various project deliverables have been issued to TII and they have given approval to advertise the tender for construction of the scheme.
“Commencement of the tender process is dependent on the acquisition of the lands necessary for the scheme,” Ms Clarke explained.
