Limerick qualified by virtue of a 4-29 to 0-11 win over Kerry in the TUS Gaelic Grounds yesterday. Clare booked their place in the final 24 hours previously with a 2-24 to 1-22 victory against Waterford at this weekend’s venue.

These teams met in the decider of the competition in 2018 where the Treaty outfit secured a 0-16 to 0-10 win. Limerick went on to win the All-Ireland title later that year.

Limerick will have a number of players in Fitzgibbon Cup action this week, with their availability in question as Kiely outlined in the wake of the Kerry win.

“The Fitzgibbon cup is on so we’re releasing lads for that. So there’s a bit of a balancing act going on.”

Involved in that competition that featured on Sunday are Jerome and Conor Boylan, Ronan Connolly, Rory Duff and Brian O’Grady to name a few. Cian Lynch, who wasn’t part of the squad at the weekend after helping NUIG to the League title last week, will be in action for college on Wednesday.
