TEAM | All-Ireland winning contingent return as Kiely reveals side for Wexford

LIMERICK travel to Wexford in the opening round of the league on Sunday.

John Kiely has reverted to the tried and trusted as he named his first Limerick Senior Hurling team for the 2022 League.

In total, there are nine of last years All-Ireland winning XV named from the start for Sunday’s clash with Wexford.

Those nine are joined by Richie English, Colin Coughlan, Brian O’Grady, Cathal O’Neill, Pat Ryan and David Reidy.

There are five changes to the side that defeated Clare in the Munster Hurling Cup final with Nickie Quaid, Declan Hannon, Diarmaid Byrnes, Tom Morrissey and Aaron Gillane making their season debuts.

Cian Lynch, who is involved in the Fitzgibbon Cup with NUIG and Peter Casey, injured, are the only players who started in last August’s Croke Park win over Cork who are absent from the side.

Throw in this Sunday is 1.45pm with the game live on TG4.
