Cheltenham Tuesday | Ireland defend Prestbury Cup

A LOOK at the top horses, trainers and jockeys to keep an eye on for this year’s Cheltenham Festival.

This year’s Cheltenham festival has real excitement about it, especially with the return of fans. Eager racing fans have already their alarms set for 1:30pm on Tuesday when the Sky Bet Supreme novice’s hurdle gets us under way.

Horses such as Shiskin, Tiger Roll and Adagio are all coming to prove their dominance.

Jockeys such as Rachel Blackmore, Paul Townend and Holly Doyle will all be on show proving and asserting their abilities at the highest level.

Trainers such as Willie Mullins, Nicky Henderson and Gordon Elliot will prove the level of expectancy they have on the horses they train.

Tuesday:

1:30pm Supreme Novice’s Hurdle

The opening race of the festival looks set to lay down a marker of thrill for the rest of the races. The second favorite Constitution Hill (9/4) looks an impressive horse to back but Dysart Dynamo (2/1) is going to put up a real battle with him.

2:10pm Arkle Chase

Edwardstone (2/1) could have a simple race if all goes to plan on the day but challengers of Blue Lord (10/3) and Haut En Couleurs (6/1) could be a real challenge for the favorite.

2:40pm Ultima Handicap Chase

In this 24 horse race it will be very difficult to call a winner. Last years winner Vintage Clouds was a long shot at best. Fantastikas (10/1) looks a good shout to win it. Gericault Roque (16/1) may be the outsider people are looking for but it’s very unpredictable in this festival.

3:30 Champion Hurdle

In a race jam packed with stars this race is set to exhilarate the festival world wide. Honeysuckle (1/2) , Appreciate It (7/2) and Epatante (10/1) are all on show today and I suspect that this race may be the flip of a coin.

4:10pm Mares’ Hurdle

Henry De Bromhead’s Tellmesomethinggirl (11/4) is the favorite in this one. Consertista (7/2) could compete at this level and I think it may be an interesting one to see how it plays out

4:50 Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle

Willie Mullins has Paul Townend on the horse Gaelic Warrior (9/4) who is the favorite of the race. Brazil (10/1) looks to be the horse to watch out for coming in quickly.

5:30 National Hunt Challenge Cup Novices’ Chase

Gordon Elliot’s Run Wild Fred (5/2) and Willie Mullins (5/2) are inseparable favorites at the moment. Fury Road (8/1) could be a possible outside look running well recently.
