Cheltenham Day One Recap | Honeysuckle delivers in style

THE Cheltenham Festival began with a flourish yesterday with a host of brilliant races at the iconic festival.

There were plenty of surprises with a couple of pre race favourites also showing their class in dominating wins.

JP McManus’ horse Janbon took the lead when Dysart Dynamo fell but was no match for the class of Constitution Hill who stormed to victory. A healthy second will still please the Limerick native however.

Market leader Edwardstone was able to pick himself up well after hurdling a horse at the start of the race, the favorite was very confident the whole way through the race and was able to extend out at the end winning comfortably over .

Corach Rambler came from the middle of the very full pack and flew passed two of the breakaways to finish first at 10/1.

Honeysuckle, the clear winner here brought in extremely well by Rachael Blackmore and finished in the end with ease. Second placed Epatante would have extended your money had you backed the 15/1 shot.

Marie’s Rock at 18/1 takes the victory here after Rachael Blackmore and Tellmesomethinggirl fell over an entourage of falling horses. Stormy Ireland was there abouts but fell of towads the end.
