LIMERICK City and towns across the county are set to celebrate in style today as St Patrick’s Day parades make a welcome return following an absence of two years.

Ten parades will take place across Limerick, with the International Band Championship returning to the city on Sunday, March 20.

This year’s St Patrick’s Day parade will feature a special display from Limerick Gardaí as part of the 100-year commemorations of An Garda Síochána.

The late legendary bandmaster Sammy Benson, who passed away in April 2020, will be honoured during Sunday’s band parade, and a Sammy Benson Memorial prize will be presented.
