Woman arrested after Limerick drugs seizure

GARDAร have seized โ‚ฌ211,000 worth of controlled drugs and arrested a woman in her 40s following a stop and search operation on the outskirts of Limerick City yesterday.

Gardaรญ from the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit stopped a vehicle on Clonmacken Road as part of Operation Tara targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Limerick,

During a search of the vehicle, Gardaรญ recovered โ‚ฌ45,000 of suspected cannabis herb. The drugs were seized and Gardaรญ arrested the driver of the car, who was taken to Henry Street Garda Station where she is currently detained under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

Following further enquiries, a follow-up search was conducted at a house in Tallaght, Dublin 24 yesterday evening.

During the course of the follow-up search, Gardaรญ seized approximately โ‚ฌ110,000 of suspected cannabis herb and โ‚ฌ56,000 of suspected heroin. All seized drugs will now be sent for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
