Limerick Sports Eagles and Limerick Celtics fall short of Division One Final

THE Limerick Sport Eagles’ and the Limerick Celtics’ seasons are finished up with both teams falling short of the finals.

After an impressive season of basketball throughout, the Limerick Sports Eagles and The Limerick Celtics fell short of play-offs stages but not for the want of trying.

The Limerick Sport Eagles‘ who finished the season (10-6) had been off the mark recently losing four of their last five games. There most recent loss was to Grand Hotel Malahide (9-5) who finished second in the North Conference. The Eagles then had a relatively straight forward win over WIT Vikings (2-14).

Scotts Lakers Killarney (9-7) were the next to take a win from them narrowly winning by seven points. The UCC Demons (15-1) who are top of the South Conference with only one loss found it easy to get by the out of form Limerick side. The unfortunate run was mainly from playing the Demons back to back with the Cork side in scintillating form.

Fifth place Fr. Mathews (9-7) were the only the second side of the season to beat the Limerick natives before their poor run.
