#BREAKING: Limerick Gardaí arrest man and seize €1.34 million worth of heroin

A MAN has been arrested and heroin with an estimated street value of €1.34 million seized during searches by Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit in Clonlara and Corbally earlier today.

The searches, which also involved Gardaí from Mayorstone Garda Station, the Regional Dog Unit and members of the Defence Forces, were carried out as part of Operation Tara, targeting the distribution of controlled drugs in the Limerick area.

Gardaí recovered heroin, with an estimated street value, subject to analysis, of €1.34 million. Nobody was arrested during the course of the search and the drugs will now be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

A further search took place at a separate location where Gardaí seized €12,500 in cash. A man in his forties was arrested at the scene of this search and was taken to Henry Street Garda Station where he is currently detained.

Investigations are ongoing.
