FIANNA Fáil councillor Martin Ryan has called on Limerick City and County Council to employ street cleaners in Bruff and Kilmallock to service the Cappamore-Kilmallock District.
He was told at last month’s area council meeting that the road maintenance team currently carry out a street cleaning function as part of the overall roads duties in all of the towns and villages in the district.
“The current budget does not allow for additional dedicated street cleaners,’ said Senior Executive Engineer Trevor McKechnie.
