€30,417 was paid to private marketing consultants by Limerick City and County Council between January 2018 and December 2021.

Fine Gael councillor Stephen Keary this week asked the names of the consultants and the type of service that they provided to the local authority.

He was informed by Assistant Head of the Marketing and Communications Department, Denis Tierney that international branding agency M&C Saatchi were procured as part of the project for the new Limerick brand to develop, create and implement the brand to devise specific marketing campaigns.

Mr Tierney explained that these included the creation of assets for the brand launch including logo, toolkit for use by stakeholders, brand guidelines, photography, videography and the brand launch itself in St Mary’s Cathedral.
