Bus services diverted during hurlers’ homecoming

Up to 90,000 people turned out for the homecoming in 2018.

BUS Éireann is advising customers of significant changes to scheduled bus services in Limerick this evening due to the All Ireland champions’ homecoming at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Between 4 and 7pm, Routes 301, 303 and 304a will be unable to serve the area near Colbert Station. During this time, Route 301 services will operate direct via O’Connell Avenue. Route 303 services will divert via Roxboro Road and Route 304a services will divert via Roxboro Road and Childers Road.

The 5:05pm, 5:35pm and 6:35pm departures on Route 343 from Limerick bus station towards Shannon/Ennis will be unable to serve the bus stop on Henry Street and all bus stops on the Ennis Road.

Rolling road closures throughout the city centre will impact all city routes. The times of these road closures will depend on the time crowds accumulate and the time the team bus travels through the city.

Congratulating the Limerick hurlers on their historic third consecutive All-Ireland hurling championship, Bus Éireann Operations Manager Brian Connolly said customers should to be prepared for changes to regular services throughout Limerick city this evening and to plan their travel in advance.
