LIMERICK-based recruitment firm Phoenix has raised €1 million in investment to help grow the business and triple its workforce to 120 by the end of next year.

Founded by  University of Limerick marketing graduate Ed Rossiter in 2018, the company has branch offices in Dublin and London and will use the new funding to establish a base in the US and expand further into the UK and Ireland later this year.

Mr Rossiter, who is a former Irish clubs rugby international, said Phoenix will establish its first US office in New York in October.

The company currently has 40 employees and hopes to increase this to 60 by the end of the year and to 120 by end of 2023.

Phoenix is currently recruiting people with skills in technology, financial services, and professional services. These jobs will be located in Limerick, Dublin, New York and London and hybrid remote working will be offered.

Commenting on the hybrid working model, Mr Rossiter said that Phoenix  “grew up in Covid times where remote working was very much to the fore and that has allowed us to look further afield.

“We want Ireland and Limerick to be a substantial part of our business in the next two years but by far the smallest part of our business,” he added.
