CASH was taken from a till at a restaurant and takeaway in Limerick City last Thursday, July 28.
Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Ber Leetch revealed: “The staff left the counter for a very short time but in that moment a thief saw their chance, ran in around the counter and took the cash from the till.
“The till had been left open, the thief probable did not know that but he was willing to chance his luck and he was in and out in seconds. Keep the till locked when not in use and if you have a charity collection box on the counter make sure that this is secured to the counter with a chain, a member of staff should always be behind the counter.”
