Maintenance work may lead to discolouration of Limerick City water supply

Irish Water Limerick Operations Manager Duane O'Brien.

IRISH Water has advised customers in Limerick City and environs that maintenance works at the Clareville Water Treatment Plant may lead to a discolouration in their water supply early next week.

Works are scheduled for Monday, October 24 and may take up to 48 hours for any discolouration to clear across the network. People are asked not to drink discoloured water.

Consumers are advised to run the kitchen tap for a few minutes to see if the water returns to a clear colour. If the water does not run clear, they should contact Irish Water Customer Care Team 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and it will be investigated.

Irish Water Operational Lead Duane O’Brien said that the scheduled maintenance works are necessary to continue to provide a safe and reliable public water supply.

“Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a planned outage occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential works.
