VaudeVillains: Jean McGlynn’s darkly comedic music revue

LEGENDARY Limerick performer Jean McGlynn brings her one woman show to Dolans on Thursday November 3.
‘VaudeVillains, a Creepy Cabaret of Crackpots, Crooks and Criminals’ is back on the Warehouse stage with her trademark cabaret style complete with costumes, choreography and a four-piece band.
The show played in Dolans in 2021 when restrictions eased for a while.
“There was a little gap in the midst of it all. We had a rocking’ night in Dolans last year. It was brilliant.” Jean remembers.
Now back by popular demand, Jean says the show is comedic and some of it more serious but overall “it’s all kind of tongue in cheek and just good fun.”
The ‘cabaret-style production’ will feature classic songs made famous by artists such as Radiohead, Michael Jackson Annie Lennox and The Doors among some of the classics of the genre like Mack The Knife.
“I love to take really popular songs and then make them my own with my Cabaret musical theatre style.”
Perfect for this season of spooky story telling, VaudeVillains is a “darkly comedic revue with something for everyone”.
McGlynn will be supported by Musical Director Aiden Boland on piano, Blendi Krasnichi on drums, Peter Hanagan on bass and Mike Moriarty on guitar. Aiden Boland has played a large part in the show’s creation.
“I’ve worked very closely with him on how it should sound and what it should look like musically and all that kind of stuff.
“So he’s put his blood sweat and tears into it.”
Booker Neil Dolan added: “Anyone who has experienced a Jean McGlynn performance will know the magic she brings to a stage.
“The song list she has put together is so diverse and I am certain that audiences will once again be wowed by the interpretations she will perform on the night”.
