LIMERICK City and County Council has confirmed that a funding application has been granted by the National Transport Authority for a new Active Travel footpath scheme on the Condell Road, extending from the Condell Road roundabout to Ted Russell Park.
Confirmation came from Senior Engineer Hugh McGrath in response to a question from Sinn Féin councillor Sharon Benson at last week’s Metropolitan District meeting.
“This new footpath will link the new housing development at Moineir to the pedestrian network in the Caherdavin area and Ted Russell Park,”
“Tendering for the project is currently ongoing with the intention to commence this scheme before the end of the year subject to the appointment of a suitable contractor,” Mr McGrath explained.
