Irish Chamber Orchestra host Christmas with Muireann

Irish Chamber Orchestra is back on the road with CHRISTMAS WITH MUIREANN, a wonderfully festive offering, featuring one of Ireland’s finest singers Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh performing at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick on December 16.
Hailing from West Kerry, Muireann has produced some stunning albums alongside a successful broadcasting career on both television and radio. Her repertoire is vast.
Muireann celebrates the tradition of candle-lighting with her delivery of Tá Coinnle an Linbh Íosa alongside the ever-popular Don oíche úd i mBeithil. Enjoy her jazzy execution of The Wexford Carol alongside the ethereal Coventry Carol. The iconic ‘Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas’ will certainly delight audiences.
A virtuosic and exciting ensemble, the Irish Chamber Orchestra are celebrated for their colourful collaborations and exhilarating performances. Katherine Hunka and ICO swing into season with Sibelius’ luscious Andante Festivo. Handel’s Concerti Grossi Op. 6 brim with variety, colour, and dance rhythms and No. 2 is no exception. Finally, Vivaldi’s Winter from The Four Seasons paints a festive scene of falling snow, chilling wind gusts, slipping on ice and teeth chattering!
