THE founders of a Limerick construction firm took one of the top accolades at this year’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

Tom O’Connor and Kieran Cusack, co-founders of Conack Construction took home the 2022 EY Established Entrepreneur of the Year award to the Treaty City.

It was a keenly contested competition, with a record number of entrants and a finalist roster with a collective revenue in excess of €1 billion.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Cusack took the time to thank his family, including his 90-year-old father, who was in attendance on the night.

Despite being founded during the 2008 recession, Conack has flourished over the past 14 years, achieving a €73 million turnover in 2020 – a figure which is expected to grow to more than €150 million this year, with €250 million projected for 2025.
