Speed ramp planned for entrance to Limerick City estate

Fianna Fáil councillor Catherine Slattery

LIMERICK City and County Council has been asked if table top speed ramps can be erected outside housing estates on the Bloodmill Road in Limerick City.

The query came from Fianna Fáil councillor Catherine Slattery who wanted to know if the ramps could be located outside Glenbrook, Carn na Ri, and the new housing development to stop cars speeding in the area.

Senior Engineer Hugh McGrath explained that the council’s Roads Department have reviewed the planning application for the new Formation Homes development on the Bloodmill Road.

“A raised traffic calming table top is planned on the Bloodmill Road at the entrance to this estate. A speed traffic survey was also recently carried out by the Roads Maintenance Team,” he said
