LIMERICK City and County Council has been asked to shine some light on anti-social behaviour at the Daar River View estate in Newcastle West.
Fine Gael councillor Tom Ruddle had a notice of motion on this month’s Newcastle West municipal district meeting agenda asking for the public lighting to be repaired in the estate.
“It is very dark and this is encouraging anti-social behaviour,” he told the executive.
However, Council Executive Engineer Matthew Clark explained that Daar River View is not in the charge of Limerick City and County Council who have no role in repair and maintenance activity.

“The Council has written to the developer and the agents of the estate requesting that the public lighting be repaired as a matter of urgency,” he said.
