SHANNON Airport drug detector dog, Marley, was involved in the seizure of more than 12 kilograms of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €240,000 at the airport earlier today.

The seizure by Revenue Officers  was made during a routine search operation when the drugs were discovered in two parcels that had arrived in an air cargo consignment from France.

The parcels were destined for an address in Limerick and investigations are ongoing.

In a statement issued by Revenue this afternoon, a spokesman said that the seizure was part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs.
