515 Ukrainian students enrolled in Limerick schools

THE LATEST figures from the Department of Education have revealed that 515 students escaping the war in Ukraine have been enrolled in schools across Limerick city and county.

Of these, 313 are in primary schools, while 202 are in enrolled secondary schools.

County Clare has seen the arrival of 930 Ukrainian pupils, while 944 and 1,562 have been enrolled in Galway and Cork respectively.

To help Ukrainian children and their families transition into the Irish education system, regional education and language teams are operating alongside education and training boards nationwide, ensuring clear information flows between schools and national support structures.

The Department continue to monitor the number of enrolments of Ukrainian children monthly. Information on accessing school places is available in Ukrainian and Russian on gov.ie/Ukraine.
