Limerick council progresses Mungret road safety project

LIMERICK City and County Council has confirmed its intention to lodge a planning application for the N69 Mungret and Boland’s Cross Road Safety Improvement Scheme this week.

The scheme will include the realignment of Boland’s Cross, junction improvements at Mungret Cross, modified traffic layout and road realignment in the vicinity of Mungret Cross, the provision of pedestrian and cyclist facilities and pavement works.

Welcoming progress on the scheme, local Fine Gael councillor Dan McSweeney said: “A number of people have campaigned for these improvements over the years and it is great to now finally see major progress in recent months.”
