Need to tackle antisocial behaviour at Limerick railway station

The area outside Colbert Station which has become a focus for antisocial behaviour.

SINN Féin TD Maurice Quinlivan has this week called for additional resources to be allocated to address issues of antisocial behaviour outside Limerick’s Colbert Station.

Deputy Quinlivan made the comments while discussing Limerick rail services in the Dáil.

“When we talk about suburban rail services in Limerick we need to factor in all services and people’s experiences. The situation around Colbert Station and Parnell Street in the heart of Limerick City needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency,” he explained.

“There are huge issues around street drinking, and associated problems with crime, antisocial behaviour and criminality that need a coordinated response. The staff in Colbert Station do a great job but they can’t solve this on their own”.
