New Shannon service offers gateway to rugby world cup

MUNSTER and Connaught rugby fans will have a direct connection to the Rugby World Cup with Aer Lingus introducing a new route connecting Shannon to Paris, Charles de Gaulle, France’s primary international airport.

With flights operating twice weekly, the new service will commence operations on September 22 and will run until the end of October.

The new service will boost connectivity for the Mid West region as well as increasing inbound traffic with European passengers benefitting from convenient connections to the United States through Shannon.

With daily transatlantic flights to New York and Boston, Shannon has the added advantage of passengers being able to clear US Customs and Immigration, removing the requirement to be cleared on arrival stateside.
