Council face calls to publish plans for future crossings on city bridge

Limerick City and County Council have faced calls to publish draft plans on the future of a city bridge.

FIANNA Fáil campaigner Pat O’Neill has called on the Council to make public the delayed publication of the draft plans for the future crossings on the Shannon Bridge for all users.

“We are now heading to two years since they first told us that plans were about to be made public for consideration,” he said.

“Now we have a situation where the toll fee is about to be increased and we know that this will deter more road users from avoiding the toll and the knock on effect is the Condell Road will become more backlogged at peak times.”

“The delay on the plans for the bridge crossing is well overdue,” he concluded.
