John Murry to perform his acclaimed debut album in full

ACCLAIMED US singer/songwriter John Murry with his band will play his debut album in full at Dolan’s this Friday July 14.
He’s currently touring promoting his biographical documentary ‘This Gracious Age: The Ballad of John Murry’, a story of his descent into addiction and his subsequent recovery.
Originally hailing from Tupelo, Mississippi, John Murry relocated to Ireland over ten years ago.
In 2013, he gained critical acclaim for his debut LP, ‘The Graceless Age,’ released under the Rubyworks label. The documentary tells the story of his rise to the brink of success following the release of this highly acclaimed album, only to have his world crumble due to heroin addiction. Eventually, he found solace and began rebuilding his life in Ireland.
The film follows John as he embarks on a transformative road trip, starting from his sanctuary on the cliffs of County Clare and leading back to his hometown in Mississippi.
The journey delves into the depths of American life, as he confronts his demons, including a difficult childhood, a traumatic assault, and years of opioid addiction.
The documentary reaches its pinnacle when John travels to Toronto to reunite with Canadian music legend Mike Timmins, who produced his album ‘A Short History of Decay.’ With Mike’s guidance, John finds an outlet for his emotions through his exceptional music.

The film beautifully captures his path from near-death experiences to redemption, igniting a renewed passion for life and art.
John Murry felt an innate connection with Ireland, appreciating its rich musical heritage and history when he first visited in 2007.
John’s affinity for Ireland grew as he pursued studies in the Irish Language and Irish History in San Francisco, never anticipating that he would eventually make it his home.
To commemorate the tenth anniversary of ‘The Graceless Age,’ Rubyworks has released a vinyl edition of the album.
The meticulously remastered two-disc set, produced at AIR Studios in Lyndhurst, coincides with the premiere of ‘The Graceless Age: The Ballad of John Murry’ on July 15.
Prompted by encouragement from friends and collaborators, John has decided to embark on a tour, performing the album in its entirety.
His band consists of talented Irish musicians Josh McClorey, Conor Price, and Mick Cronin.
John Murry and band play Dolans this Friday July 14 with special guest Scattered Ashes.
