Tag Rugby World Cup to come to Limerick

Irish Players Anna O’Dea, Jack Reals and Clare Cullen gathered at the launch of the 2023 Tag World Cup, which will be held at the University of Limerick from August 2.

UNIVERSITY of Limerick will next week, Tuesday through to Sunday, host the 2023 Tag Rugby World  Cup.

It is the first occasion the tournament will be staged in the Northern Hemisphere.

“After two years of COVID-related postponements, we are very excited to welcome over 17 nations from across the globe to the magnificent University of Limerick sports campus,” commented Aoife O’Callaghan of the organising committee.

“There is so much in store for the week ahead with teams ranging from Under-21s right up to 60-plus.”

The opening ceremony takes place on Tuesday (6.30pm), and finals on will take place Saturday 5th. Tickets are free.

All games will be streamed live on the TWC YouTube.

“It will truly be an action packed week and we can not wait to bring festivities back Shannonside,” said Ms O’Callaghan.
