TO HELP bolster the current challenges to the national blood supply, two blood donation clinics are being held in County Limerick next week.

According to the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, the demand within Irish hospitals for blood continues to rise, presently standing at 6 per cent higher than requirements at this time last year.

On Wednesday August 2, a donation clinic will be held at the Woodlands Hotel in Adare between 4.50 and 8.10pm.

The following day (Thursday August 3), St Munchinโ€™s College in Corbally will be host to a donation clinic, also between 4.50pm and 8.10pm.
