Limerick sees decrease in Garda numbers

THE NUMBER of Gardaí working in stations across County Limerick has decreased by two per cent since December 2022.

That’s according to figures published in the Irish Independent, which show an overall decrease in stationed Gardaí nationwide across the past six months.

Limerick stands just below the average national decrease of 2.2 per cent, going from 594 stationed Gardaí in December 2022 to 582 in June 2023.

The largest drop was reported in County Louth (3.7 per cent) while the lowest was seen in County Meath (0.6 per cent).

Neighbouring Clare and Galway saw a 1.6 and 1.3 decrease in stationed Gardaí respectively.
