Lavin on starting blocks in Budapest

LIMERICK’S Sarah Lavin is in the form of her life entering the World Athletics Championships.

The Championships for the Emerald star open in Budapest (Hungary) this evening, at 5.40pm (live on Virgin MediaTV).

In her most recent outing, 100 m hurdler Lavin produced a scintillating best-ever run (12.67) to smash her personal best at the Citius meeting in Bern, Switzerland.

If Lavin comes through the heat, the the semi-final is on Wednesday with the final on Thursday.
