Limerick hotel named top wedding venue in Ireland

Adare Manor

A LIMERICK hotel has been named as the top venue in Ireland for wedding celebrations.

Adare Manor topped the list of the best Irish wedding venues, compiled using Google ratings, Tripadivsor reviews, and data from social media sites Instagram and TikTok.

Owned by billionaire JP McManus, Adare Manor is located on the banks of the River Maigue in the village of Adare, and boasts 840 acres of parkland, with a golf course and a Michelin-star restaurant.

The data, compiled by Spin Genie, ranked the top 12 Irish wedding venues, with only one more Mid West entrant coming onto the list.

Adare Manor is no stranger to high acclaim, having been named ‘Ireland’s leading hotel’ in 2021 at the World Travel Awards, as well as being rated as the best resort in the world in the 2022 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards.

Dromoland Castle is the only other Mid West hotel to make the cut, coming in at number seven.

Trailing just behind Adare Manor were Lough Eske Castle in Donegal and Castle Leslie in Monaghan, coming in second and third respectively.

Rounding out the top five were Ballyvolane House in Cork and The Millhouse in Meath.

Clare’s Dromoland Castle is the seventh best wedding venue in Ireland, according to the survey, with eighth place going Drimnagh Castle in Dublin.

Coming in at ninth place was Liss Ard Estate in Killarney, followed by Darver Castle in Louth.

Closing out the list were Bellingham Castle in Louth, Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate in Galway and Tankardstown House in Meath.

Tankardstown may owe some of its recent popularity with couples after Munster rugby player Jean Kleyn and his wife Aisling tied the knot there the two years ago.
