Regeneration Jobs Fair makes a stop at St Mary’s Park

OVER 20 local employers and further education providers will take part in the third of four jobs fairs taking place across the city.

The Regeneration Jobs Fair will make a stop at St Mary’s Park later this month, giving local residents the opportunity to meet potential employers.

Employers such as Aura Grove Island, Garvey’s Supervalu, Clayton Hotel, Mr Price, An Garda Síochána, and the Defence Forces will exhibit on the day, with educational bodies like St Mary’s Adult Education, Northside Family Resource Centre, The National Learning Network, Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, and the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) will also be in attendance.

The jobs fair hopes to build on the successful previous jobs fairs in Moyross and Ballinacurra, which saw over 800 people attending.

It takes place throughout the day at the King’s Island Community Centre on Wednesday September 13.

Mayor of Limerick City and County councillor Gerald Mitchell said: “With doors to new career pathways swinging open, the jobs fair is more than an event; it’s a catalyst for lifelong success, putting residents on the fast track to achieving their ambitions.”

Joe Delaney, director of Limerick Regeneration Directorate, said: “The event aims to connect local residents with potential employers so that they can explore job openings and gain insights into various career paths.”

“At the fair, entry-level positions to more specialised roles will be on offer. Training and educational opportunities will also be available,” he concluded.

The final Regeneration Jobs Fair of 2023 will take place in Southill in October.
