PEOPLE are urged to be aware of pickpockets operating in Limerick City.

According to Gardaí, a man had his wallet stolen while getting off a bus on Upper Mallow Street last Thursday (September 21).

The incident happened when the man was waiting to get off the busy bus. When the man reached into his pocket after getting off the bus, his wallet was gone.

Gardaí said he believed this was the only time anyone would have been close enough to him to take his wallet.

Gardaí are advising people to be extra vigilant and to keep items secure at all times.
